What is My Hair Type?
Hi Everybody...
I'm fairly new to the natural hair world and still trying the learn all of the terms etc that come along with it! I've heard a lot about hair types in the natural hair community. I haven't been able to find a break down of all of the different hair types to determine what mine is. Is there anyone who can post a breakdown for us newbies?

I just had a look @ the site and now I know some parts of my hair are 3c mainly in the back and I think or lets sax it looks like that the front and the middle are a mix of 4a,4b

Completely normal to have a mixture of textures :-)
Re: What is My Hair Type?

Re: What is My Hair Type?
Hey sis!
From your picture you look like you have soft, fine, round curls, so I would say you are in the Type 3 family.
I wrote this article and at the end I have the links to the NaturallCurly.com Hair Types: http://kinkycurlycoilyme.com/2010/11/how-determine-hair-type-on-natural-hair.html

hey sis
I wish it was like that but my hair looking so soft was a result of the bantu-knots out I did like throughout the week
my hair is thick and hard lol
mainly the reason why I kept on straightening it ^^
So in this pic there´s mainly old straightened hair you can see while the new growth was already thicker and harder but I guess good to manage though oils, cremes and moisteizing it in genral cause I really did feel the difference but I´ll read your article about it for confirmation

sooooo?
you know in the front since my hair is not bc but rather in transition phase I can see my kinks appear and it has grown a lot since I last had a look at it,but at the same time everytime I do a bantu-knot out my straightened hair is curly but where I want my curls to turn out which is the natural part u hardly ever see anything but I tell myself that it probably needs to grow a bit b4 it´ll come out proper so maybe we both have to be patient
