Castor Oil Challenge
Due to my recent set of kinky twist extensions, my edges are slighty thinner than normal. Almost my entire front row and parts of the middle decided it wanted to loc lol. so getting those buds to unloc was a hassle and a half and I think that's why my front is thinner than usual. So I'm doing a castor oil challenge from 1/9-3/13. Full details are on my blog http://biggirlbighair.blogspot.com/2011/01/castor-oil-challenge.html and I'd love for you ladies to join me
Re: Castor Oil Challenge
I've been using castor oil for about a week. I didn't know I wasn't supposed to put it on wet hair oops...Good luck on your challenge!!

I put mine in an applicator bottle so that helps a lot with putting on a little, instead of globs lol. Plus i mix mine with jojoba oil and evoo and that seems to give it some fluidity
Re: Castor Oil Challenge
I need to get in on this because my hair is thinner in the crown area than any other part of my hair. What kind of castor oil do u use? Not the one that u drink thats at walgreens?

Re: Castor Oil Challenge
I'm using the Home Health brand, but in the past I've also used the Palma Christi. I looked it up on Walgreens site, the only one that came up was one for laxative use and I'm not sure about that one. Any castor oil that says it's cold pressed will work.
Re: Castor Oil Challenge
It is really thick. This is something I will use the night before I wash my hair.

Re: Castor Oil Challenge
I've went natural one-year ago today and while my hair has grown, I noticed that it's a bit thin on one side. Will the castor oil help thicken the hair? Should I use it just on the area where the thinness problem is?

Re: Castor Oil Challenge
There are many benefits of castor oil, as it increases the hair growth and makes it thick and shiny. It helps people with Dry and damaged hair. It can be applied on the scalp or used as a leave in conditioner on the hair ends. For people with oily hair, castor oil makes it all the more oily and stiff. So overuse should be avoided.
