After getting to know many of you personally via email, facebook, twitter, and YouTube I really felt the need to give inspiration to all the newly naturals. I myself am a newly naturalista and I know how hard it can be.
#1 - BE PROACTIVE: Watch YouTube videos of other naturals journey updates at 1 year or longer, their hair tutorials and their product reviews for encouragement when it feels too challenging. Here are a few of my favorite natural hair channels - xGOLDn, MsVaughn, SimplYounique, and BlackOnyx77. You can visit my channel if you'd like as well KCCM on YouTube
#2 - BE CREATIVE: If you're like me, WashNGos ain't cutting it and it can get very overwhelming when your hair is hard to manipulate. Natural hair is thick and can't be shaped and formed as easily as relaxed hair, so I find twist outs help elongate the hair making it more manageable. Try twists and twist outs, flat twists and flat twist outs, braids and braid outs, bantu knots and bantu knot outs, and add a variety of hair accessories to spice up your look! Doing it plain is boring!
#3- BE PATIENT: Your hair is and will grow. And yes it does grow overnight. You will wake up one morning and realize you can wear a style you couldn't wear last week!
MUAH!

Re: Inspiration for Newly Naturals
Another great YouTube resource I found helpful was kimmaytube. She teaches the structure of our hair. Very informative.
