My favorite conditioners
My curl pattern is very particular about the type of conditioners it like. I've found that loose, water based conditioners don't work well for me at all. My hair craves creamy consistencies in conditioners. My favorite ones are (in no particular order):
HE Hello Hydration
Suave Naturals Coconut
Suave Professional Almond & Shea
Mixed Chicks
Giovanni
Any others and my hair throws a tantrum. What are some of yours?

Re: My favorite conditioners
I definately agree with the creamy consitancy preference. The watery stuff like infusium 23 runs right through my hair, and does nothing.
My faves:
Giovanni
Hello Hydration
Pantene
Yes to Carrots
Cantu

Re: My favorite conditioners
I hadnt tried Pantene yet. I did try Yes to Cucumbers (since i have color treated hair) but Y2C did not turn out too well. I tried Oyin's Honey Hemp conditioner and it was water based, I've been told that it's been revamped and is now creamy based so I may give it a try once my Giovanni stash runs out.
Re: My favorite conditioners
*Hand clap for the creamy consistencies*
My favorites are:
Hello Hydration
None of Your frizzness
Suave Coconut
V05 Stawberries and Cream
I'm waiting to use what I have before I purchase the Suave Almond & Shea
( it smell so good) cant wait to try it

Re: My favorite conditioners
Morning all!
I love 5n1 reconstructor by Avlon. It is extremely thick and concentrated... I love that. It also works great for me since I have color as well.
Paul Mitchell Super Charged
Nairobi Humectress or Humectasil (always mix up the name)
Keracare - Humecto
Paul Mitchell The Detangler

Re: My favorite conditioners
Ayonna- I've never tried any of those. How did u get onto those??
I was recently recommended a few products from Kera Care because my scalp was so itchy. They were a dream.

The product that you probably used from Keracare was Dry Itchy Scalp shampoo. Another one to use is Tea Tree by Paul Mitchell... it is less expensive and works just as well if not better. I love that stuff. The only thing about those products is that they dry your hair out so you have to use a great moisturizing conditioner afterward.
I have a cosmetology license and do hair from time to time that is how I learned about the products. I am a product junkie. LOL! I try new stuff so that I can recommend to others. I used 5n1 reconstructor when I had a relaxer and my hair was beautiful so I just continued to use it. Any product that contains humectants are great for the hair and scalp. I love talking about hair.
Thanks for creating such a great forum.

Re: My favorite conditioners
She didnt recommend the dry and itchy scalp line because the shampoo has sulfates. She told me to get the Moisturizing Detangling Shampoo and the For color treated hair conditioner.
The shampoo was amazing. Ive never tried a shampoo that left my hair feeling so moisturized and soft afterwards!
The conditioner wasnt really thick, but the combo of the two really soothed my scalp.
They were a bit pricey, about $25 combined for tiny bottles.
Can you create some new topics and share some of the information you have in that head of yours? Id love some info on humectants. What are they good for? Which products have them? etc?

Re: My favorite conditioners
So that's how you have the Nairobi hook up (nudges you on the hook up). A stylist used that one time on my hair, and my hair did back flips.Ayonna7997 wrote:JenellyBean-KCCM wrote:Ayonna- I've never tried any of those. How did u get onto those??

Syoss (which is the German version of Tresemme ...just looked it up!Always had a really good feeling about this one! )
but I´m definitley for the creamy consistency of conditioners as well cause my hair has also responded very well to them as far as I know since I can´t imagine me using any water stuff on it ...wouldn´t feel the same actually

Re: My favorite conditioners
when I cowashed yesterday, I heard that dreaded sputterin sound meaning I have to buy new conditioner.. I did well in telling myself not to spend a dime on new hair products esp since i've found somthing that works for me...
I kind of want to try something new (other than giovanni).. but i'm also really cheap

Re: My favorite conditioners
Right now im using HE-hello hydration(my fav) and hydralicious, aussie moist. I want to try shea moisture and curls prodcuts since they are at target now and cost no more than 10 bucks. I don't like spending too much on products.

I completely agree. It's amazing to me that Miss Jessies, Carol's Daughter, and even Mixed Chicks (though i do love MC) prices are $$. I get some of the best results from my cheapie conditioners.
My Favorite Conditioners
My hair is on a NO CONE DIET!!! I have found that my 4B hair is more soft and manageable without them. At one time every product I had contained a cone and my hair was super dry and brittle. Hello hydration gave me no hydration at all LOL... I now use organic products only. if you are having these problems give some of these a try.
Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Conditioner ( very Thick good DC)
V05
Giovanni deeper moisture & Direct leave in Conditioner
Qhemet Biologics Alma & Olive Heavy Cream (Works wonders for dry hair ladies) It's def heavy.
Hope this helps someone!!
