Deep Down Conditioning
So deep conditioning is a very very essential part of keeping your hair healthy.
So I'm curious:
How often do you DC?
What do you DC with?
--Any favorites?
**Do you have any recipies for deep conditioning?

Re: Deep Down Conditioning
2 that I've tried: Shea Moisture and Hair Mayonaise by Organic Root Stimulator. Granted, I left the Hair Mayonaise on much longer (30 minutes vs a few hours), but I felt that after I rinsed the Shea Moisture out, my hair was still dry...

Re: Deep Down Conditioning
I DC on Saturdays.
I've used Organics Root Stimulator Mayonnaise. Great for thick course n kinky hair-- Love this stuff!
I've also used Organix Coconut Instant Repair treatment. Leave it in under a plastic cap for a few hours on a day when u have time to kill --OMG this stuff rocks!
I've used Yes To Carrots Mud Mask, it's water based and works well. Best for finer textures.

Re: Deep Down Conditioning
Ohhh! Haha
I was thinking of their popular curly pudding, baby butter creme, and curly merengue
I guess I forgot that they actually have other products!
I never used any of their products (yet).

Re: Deep Down Conditioning
I just purchased the Rapid Recovery during the BOGO but I have yet to use it.
I am a HORRIBLE Deep Conditioner. It's a wonder I have any hair at all In 2011, I will do better with this!

Is there such a thing as over conditioning?

Hmm that's a great question! I think the answer may be subjective. For someone, conditioning on a frequent basis may be fine, whereas for others it may not.
In terms of length, I know that for some DC'ing overnight works great for them but I tried it a couple times and in both instances it caused my scalp to become overly itchy.
The best answer (as is with most answers concerning natural hair) you have to just test it out and see how your hair responds to it
Re: Deep Down Conditioning
I just leave my conditioner in while im in the shower and let the steam do the work.

For me yes. When I leave my conditioners in longer than a few hrs, my hair becomes overly elastic and breaks easily.
Re: Deep Down Conditioning
I have the Rapid Recovery and I used it once. Its pretty nice. I would like to make up my own Deep Treatment once I know what I'm doing lol.

No such thing for my hair!
The last two weekends I let my hair DC over night and my hair thanked me sooo much for it!
Re: Deep Down Conditioning
@curliebell. I'm not sure either, I figure put all yr favorite products 2gether and go for it, but I'm not sure how much of each you will put. Example, Moisturizer, Oils, water, styling cream and ?.
