Greetings from the South!
Hey Ya'll
Im JaVone and I'm from Alabama. My journey back tot he natural world was at first a tough one. Back in '08, I decided that I would stop relaxing my hair. At this time I knew very little about what I was doing, so after almost a year of trying to hold on to length, an almost year of fighting with two different textures and breakage, an almost year of not knowing what the hell I was doing I went back to the relaxer, only to get fed up again. My hair would always gt to a certain length and just break off, I was tired of the perm sores, tired of being held captive by something that my hair was not. I decided to let my hair grow out, but by the 3rd month I became so anxious to touch and and play in my new growth that I just chopped it off. No warning. But this time I had all types of resources on my side! Oct 24, 2010 marked my one year anniversary and I must sya that I love my hair more and more everyday! I will be so glad when there comes a day when "going natural" isn't a trend or a style but balck women's acceptance of who we really are and what God blessed us with!
